Primarily, we work on these domains…
1. Network Building: Through our activities we have been trying and building a vast network of people who are interested to work for the community and social development. We organise many programmes which help people to get together and know others.
2. Education & Training: Our prime focus is to empower people with education. We encourage students in higher studies. We have initiated several programmes for training students like improving quality education of the school going students, Coaching for NET/SET examinations, a basic course on Research and so on. We are also working on the vocational and skill oriented trainings in need.
3. Academic Discussions: We conduct many academic and other discussions in online and offline platforms. Lectures by famous as well as young scholars are organised. We also do panel discussions, in conversations and talks on different matters. We have also organised few full length conferences.
4. Information Dissemination: We emphasise on the need of collective support and betterment of everyone involved in any domain of higher education. With this purpose in view, we disseminate information related to the scope of involvement and betterment in higher studies and research opportunities, training courses, employment opportunities and so on.
5. Observances, Remembrances & Greetings: We believe in retaining the historical and cultural memories of the important events, aspects and personalities of our land as significant components of the present discourse. Hence, we regularly circulate memorial posters on eminent personalities and observe the significant social and historical events like Independence Day, Republic Day, Bhasha Dibas, Teachers’ Day, Environment Day by organising lectures, talks, writing competitions and programmes. We also send greetings to everyone on special occasions.
6. Urban Housing: Getting a good place to stay is a serious problem for many especially for people of marginalised backgrounds. For this we encourage and help people take facilities of government housing schemes. Also through our networks people get to know about information about other private schemes and rents.
7. Harmony Works: We live in a modern secular democratic country. We respect and uphold the Constitution and it’s values. Accordingly, we believe in peaceful cohabitation of different people together. We conduct lectures and give other efforts for harmonies of the communities.
8. Print & Publishing: We try to encourage people in writing and publishing. Some of our people are trying to publishing on different fronts like translations from Bengali to English. Even though slowly but we are on the process of building a print and publishing unit. We started with publishing different leaflets, booklets, then we published a great handbook on career counselling, then we have started our own magazine. We have also started our online platform to encourage writing on social discourses. Over the time, we will continue these and new things will be added.
Apart from these we also work on different things as situation arises.
