Put your writing skills to the test for ‘ Remembering Begum Rokeya, The Modernist Social Reformer : A BASE Writing Contest ‘. This is open to all students across the globe.
You can write on any topic or multiple topics, both in English & Bengali. Apart from prizes, we will issue digital certificates for all shortlisted writings. The best quality writings among them will receive special mention, a digital certificate and a memento. Of course, there will be first, second & third prize as well. All prize holders will receive certificates, mementos & prize money. We will organize a online prize distribution ceremony where they will be welcome to make a brief acceptance speech as well.
To give an idea what kind of articles you can write, here are few sample titles: “Begum Rokeya and her contributions to Feminist Science Fictions”, “Begum Rokeya, a Bengali Muslim Freedom Fighter”, ” Begum Rokeya and her contributions to Islamic discourse”, “Modern Education and Begum Rokeya” etc.
MECHANICS :
1. The contest is open to all interested students including those in Second year of Post Graduation. Research Scholars need not apply.
2. No registration fee is required.
3. Fill-up the registration form :
4. Participants must submit a minimum of 800 and Maximum 1000 words.
5. Entries shall be submitted to: office@basebengal.in before December 10, 2020.
6. Entries must be encoded in MS Word in A4 size paper with the following specifications: Arial font size 12, single spacing.
7. The participant’s identity must not appear on any of the pages of the entry. Participant’s identity shall include the participant’s full name, address and cellphone/mobile number must be written in a separate sheet.
8. The decision of the panel of judges is final. Entries will be verified and researched by BASE for originality. Non-original essays will automatically be disqualified.
9. All entries will automatically be the property of BASE .
10. Winners will be informed accordingly.
11. Prizes will be sent to the winners after the competition
